MID-MAJOR
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR |
|
Drexel’s
6-foot-10 senior Chaz Crawford was named to the
Colonial Athletic Association All-Defensive team for
three straight seasons, culminating with the CAA
Defensive Player |of the Year in 2007.
Add to that the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Defensive
Player of the Year.
“Chaz changes the game,” says collegeinsider.com and
Basketball Times mid-major columnist Angela Lento.
“His presence sets the tone for the Drexel defense.
His work on the defensive end was a big reason the
Dragons enjoyed so much success this past season.”
One of the premier defenders in all of college
basketball, Crawford led the CAA in both rebounding
and blocks. He finished ninth in the nation with 3.3
blocks per game and 15th in the country with 9.7
rebounds per game. He is second all-time in Drexel
history with 316 blocks and is sixth in rebounding
with 801.
