MID-MAJOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR

For three straight seasons he was named a Mid-Major All-American. For three straight seasons he was honorable mention AP All-American. For three straight seasons he was the Player of the Year in the Mid-Continent Conference. Caleb Green finishes his career as the Mid-Major Player of the Year.

“Rarely does a player dominate his league like Caleb Green,” says collegeinsider.com and Basketball Times mid-major columnist Angela Lento. “Caleb had the ability to take over a game and was often unstoppable. He helped to set a new standard for Oral Roberts basketball."

Green helped ORU to three straight regular season championships in the Mid-Continent Conference and back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances (2006 and 2007). This season he averaged 20.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as ORU posted a 23-11 overall record.

He ended his career at Oral Roberts as the Mid-Con’s career leader in both points (2,503) and rebounds (1,189). He is just the 18th player in NCAA history to reach the 2,500-point, 1,000-rebound marks.

Green’s AP honorable mention made him just the fourth player in ORU history to receive at least three All-America honors. Mark Acres (1982-85) was named to the AP honorable mention team four consecutive seasons, while Richard Fuqua (1971-73) and Anthony Roberts (1975-77) each earned three awards.
