UC San Diego’s Leo Beath has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week

LEO BEATH NAMED LOU HENSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK

BOSTON, MA -- UC San Diego’s Leo Beath has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week. The 6-foot-8 junior led the Tritons to a perfect 3-0 week.

Beath opened the week with a career-high 29 points against Temple. The following day, he nearly matched his career-best with 26 against Bradley. For the week he averaged 23.6 points, 4 rebounds, and racked up 5 steals as UC San Diego won the Adventure Bracket at the ESPN Events Invitational. Beath shot 70% during the tournament, which included a win over Towson (ranked No. 21 in the Mid-Major Top 25®).

The Lou Henson award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball, as voted on by current and former coaches, athletic directors and members of the media.
