GUS ETCHISON EARNS LOU HENSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS
BOSTON, MA -- Idaho State’s Gus Etchison has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week. The 5-foot-11 senior led the Bengals to a pair of conference wins last week.
On Thursday, Etchison had a career-high 29 points, to go along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against Montana. Two days later he established a new career best with 36 points against Montana State. He also finished with a career-high 8 assists. For the week Etchison averaged 32.5 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1.5 steals, while shooting 60% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc.
The Lou Henson award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball. The award voting panel is made up of current division I coaches, athletic administrators, and senior College Insider staff members.
