JORDAN RILEY EARNS LUTE OLSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS
BOSTON, MA -- East Carolina’s Jordan Riley has been named the Lute Olson award National Player of the Week. The 6-foot-5 senior helped the Pirates to a pair of conference wins last week.
On Wednesday, Riley had 27 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and he matched a career-high with 6 steals at UTSA. On Sunday he finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 2 steals against Memphis. It was his seventh 30-point game this season, which is the second most by any player this season. For the week, Riley shot 51% from the field, 60% from beyond the arc and 76% from the free throw line.
The Lute Olson award is presented annually to the top player in division I college basketball. The award voting panel is made up of current division I coaches, athletic administrators, and senior College Insider staff members.
