JUSTIN NEELY EARNS LOU HENSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS
BOSTON, MA -- UNC Greensboro’s Justin Neely has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week. The 6-foot-6 senior led the Spartans to a pair of conference wins last week.
On Wednesday, Neely posted a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds against Western Carolina. He was a career-best 19-for-21 from the free throw line, including five in the final three seconds to seal the win. On Sunday he posted his 16th double-double of the season with 24 points and 13 rebounds. He also matched his season-high with three steals.
The Lou Henson award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball. The award voting panel is made up of current division I coaches, athletic administrators, and senior College Insider staff members.
