PROPHET JOHNSON EARNS LOU HENSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS
BOSTON, MA -- Sacramento State’s Prophet Johnson has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week. The 6-foot-3 senior led the Hornets to a pair of conference wins last week.
On Thursday, Johnson finished with 27 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals against Montana State. On Saturday he posted 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 1 blocked shot against Montana. For the week he was 22-for-36 from the field (61%), including 7-for-10 from beyond the arc (70%).
The Lou Henson award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball. The award voting panel is made up of current division I coaches, athletic administrators, and senior College Insider staff members.
