UC Santa Barbara’s Aidan Mahaney named Lou Henson award National Player of the Week

AIDAN MAHANEY NAMED LOU HENSON AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF WEEK

BOSTON, MA -- UC Santa Barbara’s Aidan Mahaney has been named the Lou Henson award National Player of the Week. The 6-foot-3 senior led the Gauchos to a pair of wins last week.

On Thursday, Mahaney posted 26 points, and 6 rebounds against Long Beach State. Two days later he scored a season-high 30 points, to go along with four rebounds and four assists, against Cal State Bakersfield. He was 11-for-13 from the field, including 7-for-7 from beyond the arc against the Roadrunners. 

The Lou Henson award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball, as voted on by current and former coaches, athletic directors and members of the media.
